One of the most intriguing motifs used to decorate porcelain during the Ming dynasty is the bagua, or eight trigrams. The ancient symbols represent positive and negative energy—yin and yang—and to this day are used to effect feng shui cures in the home. The trigrams are featured in relief on all four sides of this hand-poured, hand-painted, and hand-finished decorative porcelain vase crafted by Chinese artisans. Resting on a short circular foot, each white porcelain vase has a tapered neck with a lipped rim and is finished in a clear glaze. Display both large and small vases together for balance and visual impact.
